What is the Sabbath Church of God?

The church of God is a spiritual organism, not an organization or a building.  When a person receives the gift of the Holy Spirit, he or she becomes a Christian (Romans 8:8-9) and thus a part of this spiritual organism, the Body of Christ.

The Holy Spirit is available to us as a result of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are sanctified by it, and it produces the fruits of the Spirit in us as we strive to live God’s way of life (Galatians 5:22-23). We use that Spirit to develop holy, righteous character as we strive to become more Christ-like (1 John 2:5-6), and we use Christ’s Word, the Bible, as our guide.

Our ministry continually strives to respect the words of the Bible without adding to or taking away from them (Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelation 22:19).  We aim to follow as closely as possible the examples that Jesus Christ and the apostles provided in the first-century church. We make no claim to know everything, but teach that God abundantly pardons and continually blesses those who please Him (Isaiah 55:7 and 1 John 3:22).

Our congregation comprises former members of the Worldwide Church of God, Baptist Church, Presbyterian Church, Methodist Church, Catholic Church, and others.  We are not affiliated with any particular denomination. We all have one thing in common, and that is a desire to worship God as outlined in Scripture. We believe that choosing a church should be based primarily on the doctrine that church is teaching, and our doctrine emphasizes the importance of a Scriptural foundation and of upholding God’s Ten Commandments in the letter and in the intent.

Our goal is to have welcoming, open arms to anyone who desires to learn more of God's will for humanity and to show the love of God to those in need whenever and wherever we encounter them.

We invite you to begin your Christian journey by acknowledging the day that God ordained for His worship, as set forth in the very beginning in Genesis 2:2.  Join us at our service on Saturday the Sabbath to learn about the fantastic promises God has in store for you!
